In Season

Readiness and timing are related, but they are not the same thing.

The meaning

In Season represents timing.

Something may be desirable and still poorly timed.

Something may feel premature and still be approaching readiness.

This card asks you to examine timing separately from desire.

The central question is:

Is this wrong—or simply not ready yet?

When this card appears

Relevant when:

  • impatience is high;
  • circumstances are changing;
  • something repeatedly feels almost ready;
  • opportunity depends on external timing;
  • pushing now may create unnecessary friction.

Reflection

Timing is difficult because it rarely announces itself perfectly.

Waiting too long can become avoidance.

Moving too early can create unnecessary difficulty.

In Season invites attention to conditions.

Resources.

Capacity.

External circumstances.

Experience.

Relationships.

Opportunity.

Sometimes the ingredients exist but have not aligned.

Sometimes they have.

The card does not promise:

Your time will come.

It asks whether the current conditions support the move you are considering.

Relationships & connection

A conversation can be necessary and still poorly timed.

Likewise, waiting for a perfect moment can become a permanent excuse.

Work & direction

Strong around:

launch timing;

hiring;

expansion;

investment;

market entry;

negotiation.

Good decisions made at poor times can perform badly.

During change

Some phases cannot be rushed simply because you understand what comes next.

What to notice

The shadow is fatalism.

Timing is not an invisible force that removes agency.

Conditions can sometimes be changed.

A small invitation

Ask:

What specific condition would indicate that the timing has improved?

If you cannot name one, “not yet” may be avoidance.

Journal prompt

Am I waiting for a real condition to change—or waiting to feel completely unafraid?

Looking at the illustration

A single pear branch bears closed buds, ivory blossoms, small green fruit and ripe golden pears against a soft lavender background.

Notice which detail first draws your attention, then compare that response with the card’s defined meaning and caution. The painting supports reflection; it does not provide factual evidence about another person or a future event.
