Oracle Card
An oracle card is a card in a creator-defined divination or reflection system that is not required to follow tarot's standard 78-card architecture.
Modern oracle decks are unusually flexible.
Their creators may determine:
card count;
titles;
categories;
symbols;
meanings;
guidebook methodology;
spreads;
and overall purpose.
An oracle deck might center:
angels;
animals;
nature;
archetypes;
affirmations;
personal development;
relationships;
or another theme.
Unlike conventional tarot, oracle decks do not share one universal set of card identities.
This makes the deck's own guidebook or canonical documentation particularly important.
Many contemporary angel decks are oracle decks, but the categories are not identical: angel-themed tarot products also exist.
Scope: “Oracle” should not be presented as one ancient standardized card tradition.
